You've been eagerly awaiting it: it's time to discover the Autumn-Winter 2020/2021 trends in women's fashion. The new arrivals presented in recent weeks on our store must have given you a hint. This year again, we're having fun with fashion and not hesitating to borrow from the past to get dressed!
We've decoded the season's 12 trends just for you, and given you some tips on how to adopt them. Ready to make some room in your wardrobe?
The floral print
It was already very present in our wardrobes this summer. The floral pattern is still trendy this winter, bringing color to our outfits. Even when the weather outside is grey!
It is mainly found on dresses, whether long or short. A bohemian touch that perfectly matches camel or black leather accessories.
For a subtle touch, it is mostly found on tops like blouses or shirts. It is more discreet and classic, under a blazer or a long cardigan.
Graphic prints
This is another way to add color and character to your winter outfits. Graphic prints are very present this year, especially on jackets and blouses.
Abstract prints, checks, houndstooth, camouflage... You'll be spoiled for choice! If you're feeling daring, don't hesitate to mix prints. Some examples of trendy mix & match: checks and leopard, camouflage and leopard, polka dots and checks, etc.
Retro cuts
If you hadn't noticed yet, fashion has been dictated by retro cuts for a few months now. A-line dresses typical of the 60s, bootcut jeans and long dresses of the 70s, oversized cuts of the 80s, sleeveless or deconstructed tops of the 90s... It's definitely a return to the future!
You can now adopt these retro cuts without having to scour second-hand shops or thrift stores. SUNCOO, for example, offers a very retro collection, influenced by the 70s & 80s.
Satin fabric
Long considered old-fashioned, satin fabric is making a comeback in our wardrobes this winter. A comeback dictated by a desire for softness and lightness.
It is mainly found on long or midi skirts, printed or plain. Worn with a chunky knit sweater or sweatshirt, with leather boots or sneakers, it's the chic touch that punctuates your casual outfits this winter.
90's Inspiration
Whether in music or fashion, the 90s are very trendy this year. So much so that it feels like we're reliving them a second time!
Grunge inspiration punctuates your rock outfits, especially with message t-shirts. Small sweaters have roll necks but are sleeveless. They are worn with light jeans, or slipped under an oversized velvet overshirt.
Another emblem of the 90s making a comeback: the fanny pack. Nowadays, it returns in a chic version, in crocodile leather, or in streetwear versions, worn crossbody.
Chic streetwear
Wearing sweatpants has never been as chic as this year! This is proven by the brand SUN VALLEY, which offers many comfortable and close-fitting jogging sets. They highlight your figure while offering you all the comfort of jogging.
For footwear, choose a trendy pair of sneakers to complete the outfit.
Velvet
Soft, baroque, chic, retro... These are a few adjectives that perfectly describe velvet! This winter, we wear it ribbed on short skirts or pants, which we pair with chunky knit sweaters or printed sweatshirts.
Less retro, short-pile velvet also adorns high-waisted mini-skirts. It can be worn in a rock style or a classic style, with a blouse and a pair of leather boots.
The comfy sweater
Let's face it: one of the main reasons to look forward to autumn is being able to snuggle up in cozy cardigans! Cardigans made of soft and warm materials, rather long, that can be worn with a dress as well as with a more basic outfit.
The brand specializing in cozy cardigans? DES PETITS HAUTS, of course!
The pussy-bow collar
Another sign of retro inspiration in fashion this autumn: the grand return of the pussy-bow collar. It's a stand-up collar with ribbons that are tied and match the rest of the blouse.
We had already mentioned it in our presentation of the IKKS X LORA collection.
Chic and retro, it's a piece that's not always easy to master. To adopt it, we recommend wearing it with a simple outfit: a printed pussy-bow blouse, high-waisted slim jeans, and a pair of boots. Simple but effective.
Rock outfits
Rock style is a fashion classic. Some brands, like IKKS, have even made it their trademark.
This winter, we dare to wear faux leather in shorts or skirts. Message t-shirts or shoulder-padded tops, as well as lace tops, go very well with this material.
We also find rock details on certain pieces such as studs on belts, faux leather details on jackets, or even chains or studs on trousers.
Folk outfits
With retro cuts and floral prints invading our wardrobes this winter, it's almost impossible to miss the folk trend. Long floral dresses, leather boots, long cardigans, hats... We draw inspiration from folk icons like Joni Mitchell or Fleetwood Mac to create our winter outfits.
Structured silhouettes
Last trend: structured silhouettes. Shoulder pads, high waists, push-up jeans, flowing or wrap cuts... We highlight our assets this winter, without hiding under 25 layers of clothing.
